Carried out on the mission field of Colonial Georgia, the reformation effort of young John Wesley reveals much about the strengths and limitations of any reformation or restoration agenda. Wesleys effort to discover right faith and practice through the preaching of the gospel in a heathen culture was just one effort among many to bring the church in line with the will of God. Ultimately his experiment failed, yet the experience reshaped his paradigm for church reform.
