The Synoptic Logia of Jesus in the Ethical Teachings of Paul

This essay will, first, survey the debate from Baur to Akenson about the appearance of authentic sayings of the historical Jesus in Paul's letters. Then, after some general comments, it will present a proposed list of citations and echoes of the words of Jesus based on four criteria. Finally, it will seek to identify the source of the puzzling citation from 1 Corinthians 14:37.
