Student paper competitions are open to both undergraduate and graduate students in three categories:  Junior/Senior; M.A./M.Div., and Stone-Campbell History (Isaac Errett Award from the Disciples Historical Society).  Contact Les Hardin (les.hardin@fcc.edu) immediately to indicate your interest and to obtain the competition rules (also available on the SCJ website).  For the Errett competition, contact Rick Cherok (rick.cherok@ccuniversity.edu).

Lipscomb University is located in south central Nashville, south of the Rt. 440 loop and west of I-65 on Granny White Pike.

SCJ Conference Central will be in the Ezell Center, close to the Belmont Boulevard campus entrance. Parking will be provided in designated areas.

A Stone-Campbell Journal Conference rate of $109 (plus taxes and fees) per room per night has been negotiated for Thursday and Friday nights for either a king or double room. Price includes breakfast, Wi-Fi and parking. Rate guaranteed until March 15, 2013. Some rooms available at this rate also for Wednesday (4/3/13) and Saturday (4/6/13) nights. Scarritt-Bennett Center

Another option this year is the Scarritt-Bennett Center, a conference center that primarily offers single rooms in suite style (two same-gender guest rooms share one bath) for $50 per room per night (plus taxes and fees). A few double rooms are also available. Price includes in-room Wi-Fi and parking. Near Vanderbilt University, Belmont University and the Disciples Historical Society, the beautiful Scarrittt-Bennett Center is within walking distance of Hilltop Village and its eclectic, student-oriented restaurants and shops. Shuttle Bus Transportation

Lipscomb University has graciously agreed to provide shuttle bus transportation from the Hampton Inn Brentwood and the Scarritt-Bennett Center twice a day on Friday and Saturday. Transportation will also be provided to the optional Friday night group dinner. Details on all conference transportation to follow.

Airport Transportation

Registration Costs

  • Stone-Campbell Scholars Community members/subscribers: $40
  • Non-members/non-subscribers: $50
  • Student members/subscribers: $20
  • Student non-members/non-subscribers: $30

Conference registration includes attendance at all sessions, access to conferee-only discounted book sales, coffee and snack breaks, and on-campus parking. More information will be available later about on-your-own meal options on Lipscomb’s campus for Friday lunch, as well as the optional group dinner at a local restaurant on Friday night.
