Stone Campbell International

Stone-Campbell International is a tax-exempt 501c3 entity whose mission is to serve the church and promote its unity through the advancement of scholarship within the Stone-Campbell Movement.

Stone-Campbell International accomplishes this mission by fostering an international community of support among Christian scholars and students through events, publications, and other activities that enhance develop, disseminate, and preserve their scholarly efforts.

Among these are:

  • Stone-Campbell Journal, a semi-annual journal
  • SCJ Conference (Spring), an annual academic gathering of professors, students, and ministers.
    • Within this conference SCJ hosts a student paper contest for undergraduates and graduate students that includes a $2500 scholarship for participating graduate schools within the Stone-Campbell heritage. SCJ Conference also services the Isaac Errett Award (on behalf of the Disciples of Christ Historical Society) for graduate students submissions on topics involving the history of the Stone-Campbell Movement.
  • annual recognition awards to promising scholars in college and graduate school (Spring).
  • SCJ Annual Lecture at the North American Christian Convention (Summer).
  • sponsors an annual reception (featuring an academic conversation between two scholars) at the Society of Biblical Literature Annual Meeting (Fall).
  • Stone-Campbell Scholars Community, an online gathering point for scholars from all streams who identify with the religious heritage of the Stone-Campbell Movement.
